To allow our staff to fully celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends, the David C Cook and Integrity Music offices will be closed end of business on Friday, December 23rd and reopening on Monday, January 3nd. All orders received after December 19th will begin shipping the week of January 3rd, 2023.

We cannot do faith on our own. We need each other. We are a part of the body of Christ, each with a specific purpose. And when we do not fulfill our purpose, a part of the body suffers.

The pastor of Emmanuel Church, a congregation in a closed country overseas, informed us that the body of believers in his community was suffering from a lack of knowledge of God’s Word.

Some of us pastors did not know that Jesus himself was God. They considered him to be the Son, but not God.

There is a phrase we often say out of frustration: “If only I had known.” But the things this community didn’t know because of their limited access to good resources was (and is) our responsibility…because we do know! And thanks to God, David C Cook was there to provide Wiersbe Bible commentaries.

I thank you for your good lessons. Everyone here has now understood what the story is all about.

Those of us who know the story of God’s redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus, who is God… this part of the body of Christ that has realized his saving grace is called upon to deliver the good news wherever it is needed.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

God, the body of Christ is most certainly the hope of the world. But I cannot bring your hope to anyone if I do not do my part. Therefore, whatever part of the body of Christ I am, I pray to be effective and productive in delivering your good news.

Our Important Job:

It is true – we can’t (and shouldn’t) do faith on our own.  We do need each other.  Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us to meet together and to encourage and exhort one another.  Ephesians 4:12-13 tells us,

to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (NIV)

We may not be able to physically meet with our brothers and sisters around the globe – that doesn’t lessen the importance of our job to encourage, exhort, and support them as we are able.

Please continue to pray for the body of Christ.  Many today are facing untold challenges as they live out their faith in Christ.
