A God Fearing Village

A MISSIONARY IN MALAWI WRITES:

On a return visit to the Bulala School in Malawi, the chief of the village was excited to tell me all that had happened since our last visit, when Bibles had been distributed among his people.

“I thank you that you have turned my village into a God-fearing village,” he told me. “Many now have access to Bibles—a precious gift you have given us, which we would not have without you.”

“Most of us had never received a Bible in our whole life, so we thought we were being tricked the day we heard you were giving them away for free.”

Before leaving the village, I saw the chief once more… this time sitting in his chair, reading the stories of Jesus to his wife as she sat next to him.

Life change is happening in this community, my friends.

Scripture:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

Prayer:

Remind me of the power of your Word, O Lord, so that I will continue to tell the stories of Jesus and see our own lives and communities changed…for good.
